Live Casino Game Shows Explained: Wheels, Bonuses and RTP

How live game shows such as Crazy Time, Funky Time, Lightning Storm, Dream Catcher, Sweet Bonanza CandyLand and Mega Wheel work: bonus rounds and published RTP.

Guide, published

Live game shows are the loudest corner of any live casino lobby. A presenter, a giant wheel, flashing multipliers and bonus rounds that look like a TV quiz: it is a very different feel from a quiet blackjack table. Studios such as Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live have turned the old carnival money wheel into a whole category, and several of these shows run around the clock.

This guide gives you an overview of the main game shows, how their bonus rounds work, and what the providers actually publish about RTP. We already have full guides to Crazy Time and MONOPOLY Live, and a general live casino guide for India covering table etiquette and providers, so here we focus on the wider family and how the shows compare.

All game rules, multipliers and RTP figures below come from the providers’ own game pages, listed in the sources. Where a provider does not publish a number, we say so.

How a live game show works

Almost every show follows the same loop:

  1. Betting window. A timer counts down while you place chips on the spots you think will win: numbers, letters, colours or bonus games.
  2. The spin. The presenter spins the wheel (or drops balls, or rolls dice). Many newer shows add a random multiplier step at the same time, such as Crazy Time’s Top Slot or the DigiWheel in Funky Time and Lightning Storm.
  3. Instant win or bonus. If the wheel stops on a number or letter you backed, you are paid at the listed odds, multiplied if a multiplier landed there. If it stops on a bonus segment you backed, you go into that bonus round.
  4. Bonus round. A separate mini-game decides your multiplier. Everyone can watch it, but only players who had a bet on that bonus spot are paid.

That last point matters. Evolution says it directly for Crazy Time, MONOPOLY Live, Funky Time and Lightning Storm: if you did not bet on the bonus segment, you are a spectator for that round.

Evolution’s game shows

Evolution has the biggest range. Our reviewed casino data shows 62 of the 80 casinos we review list Evolution as a provider, so these are the shows you are most likely to find.

Crazy Time

The best-known show: a money wheel with numbers 1, 2, 5 and 10 plus four bonus games (Cash Hunt, Pachinko, Coin Flip and Crazy Time). A Top Slot adds random multipliers to a bet spot on each spin. Evolution publishes an RTP of 96.08%, a 1 in 6 chance of a bonus round per spin and a top multiplier of 20,000x in the Crazy Time bonus. Full breakdown in our Crazy Time guide.

MONOPOLY Live

A 54-segment wheel with numbers, CHANCE segments and 2 ROLLS / 4 ROLLS segments that trigger a 3D board-game bonus with MR. MONOPOLY. Evolution’s public page does not publish an RTP. See our MONOPOLY Live guide.

Dream Catcher

The simplest of them all; Evolution has described MONOPOLY Live as a special edition of Dream Catcher. Evolution describes a wheel with 54 equal segments: 52 are numbers (1, 2, 5, 10, 20 or 40) and two are multipliers, a silver 2x and a gold 7x. A number pays its own value, so a bet on 5 pays 5 to 1 and 10 pays 10 to 1. If the wheel stops on a multiplier, all bets stay in place, the wheel spins again and the next winning number is multiplied. Land on another multiplier and they stack. Evolution quotes multiplied payouts up to 20,000x. There are no separate bonus games, which makes it a good first show to watch.

Funky Time

A disco-themed show built on a digital DigiWheel. Evolution’s launch announcement describes 64 segments spelling PLAY, FUNK and TIME, plus number 1 segments and bonus segments. The game page says the 24 letter segments pay 25:1 by default, and the DigiWheel adds random multipliers to random segments each round. There are four bonus games:

  • Bar: pick one of three glasses; each gets a random multiplier and a slot reel adds an extra multiplier to one glass.
  • Stayin’ Alive: a 90-ball draw and a 20-level ladder that starts at 5x and goes up to 10,000x. You pick a team colour and climb while your colour is drawn, until four lives run out.
  • Disco and VIP Disco: Mr Funky dances across a 37-square (Disco) or 63-square (VIP Disco) floor collecting multipliers until he falls off the edge.

You can also cover all 12 letters, or all four bonuses, with a single combined bet. Evolution does not list an RTP on the public Funky Time page.

Lightning Storm

A newer DigiWheel show with a 39-segment wheel. On each spin the wheel assigns 20 bonus symbols to random numbered segments, and some of those can also get a random multiplier from 2x to 50x. “Leaf” segments pay instantly. Five bonus games sit behind the symbols:

Bonus gameHow it works (per Evolution)Cap
Hot SpotPick a tile on a 9×12 multiplier wall; a moving 3×3 area doubles the values it covers10,000x
Monster MashThree reels build a monster; Regular multipliers add, Global ones multiply10,000x

Two side options help with coverage: Storm Chaser adds a chip to whichever spot gets the Lightning Storm symbol, and X Chaser covers spots that receive a bonus symbol plus a multiplier. Evolution does not list an RTP on the public page.

Pragmatic Play Live’s game shows

Pragmatic Play Live runs its own studio shows. In our data, 19 of the 80 casinos we review name Pragmatic’s live studio as a provider, while many more list “Pragmatic Play” without saying whether that includes live games, so check the live lobby.

Sweet Bonanza CandyLand

A live version of the Sweet Bonanza slot theme. Pragmatic describes a wheel with six betting positions plus three Sugar Bomb segments that award a random multiplier of up to 10x and a free respin (doubled if you chose the Sugar Bomb Booster). Three bonus games:

  • Sweet Spins: 10 free spins on a live version of the Sweet Bonanza slot, paying for eight or more matching symbols.
  • Candy Drop: pick one of three candy balls that fall through a plinko-style wall collecting multipliers; hitting all four Jackpot Boxes gives the 1,000x max.
  • Bubble Surprise: can trigger Candy Drop or Sweet Spins, or award 5x, 10x or 25x.

Pragmatic quotes a €500,000 max win and a 24/7 stream. No RTP is shown on the public page.

Mega Wheel

Pragmatic’s original game show. The wheel has 54 numbered segments and nine betting positions; a winning number pays your bet back plus its value. Each round one symbol is picked as the Mega Lucky Number with a random multiplier of up to 500x. There is also a Spanish-language Mega Wheel Latino. No RTP on the public page.

Money Time and Color Game Bonanza

Money Time uses a 54-segment wheel, four bonus games (Cash Roll, Bank Heist, Coin Rush and Money Time) and random boosters up to 50x; Pragmatic lists wins up to 40,000x in Bank Heist with a bet spot booster. Color Game Bonanza swaps the wheel for three dice: bet on one of six colours, win up to 2:1 when one or two dice match, and trigger a 54-segment Bonus Wheel (up to 50x, or a Jackpot Wheel paying 50x to 3,000x) when all three match. Neither page lists an RTP.

“Not published” means the public page we checked has no figure. It does not mean the game has no RTP. Each game’s Help or Rules screen normally lists the RTP for each bet spot, and in money-wheel shows the figure often differs from one spot to another. Open it at your casino before you play. Our RTP and volatility guide explains how to read these numbers.

What 96.08% means in rupees

RTP is a long-run average. Plain maths for Crazy Time: across a very large number of bets, ₹100 staked returns about ₹96.08 on average, so the expected cost is about ₹3.92 per ₹100. Stake ₹50 a spin for 100 spins (₹5,000 in total) and the expected cost is about ₹196. Your actual session can be far better or far worse, because game shows are high-variance: most spins return small amounts or nothing, and a big share of the return sits in rare bonus rounds.

Bonus rounds are rare by design

Evolution’s own figure for Crazy Time is a 1 in 6 chance of any bonus per spin, and you only get paid if you backed the one that lands. In Color Game Bonanza, the chance that all three dice show the colour you picked is (1/6)³ = 1 in 216, assuming fair six-sided dice with one face per colour. Big headline multipliers sit at the far end of these already-rare events.

Game shows vs classic live tables

Game shows tend to be slower per round than RNG games, with a betting timer and a long spin, but rounds can still add up quickly. Compared with live blackjack or baccarat, there are no decisions to make after the spin; the outcome is pure chance. If you want a live game where your choices matter, see our blackjack and baccarat guides. For quick Indian card games, try Andar Bahar or Dragon Tiger, and for a roulette spin with multipliers, Lightning Roulette.

For new releases, our news coverage includes Evolution’s latest live games and Pragmatic Play’s Kevin Hart live casino promotion.

Tips for playing game shows sensibly

  • Set a session budget first and divide it by your stake to know how many spins you can afford.
  • Remember bonus bets. If you want a shot at a bonus round, you have to bet on that bonus spot each spin, which raises your cost per spin.
  • Covering more spots is not a strategy. It makes small wins more frequent but does not change the house edge.
  • Check bonus terms. Many casino bonuses exclude live games or count them at a reduced rate; V.Vegas, for example, says its casino bonuses cannot be wagered on game shows. Our wagering requirements guide explains the maths.
  • Ignore the chat hype. Big wins shown on screen are a small slice of all bets placed.

Where to play live game shows

These casinos from our reviews list INR and Evolution among their providers. Ratings are the average of our five review scores.

  • BC.Game lists Evolution and Pragmatic Play, and our review found Evolution’s Crazy Time in its lobby. INR is listed, and its official INR deposit list names UPI, PhonePe and Paytm.
  • Patang names Pragmatic Play among its providers, and its bonus terms exclude several Evolution game shows by name (Ice Fishing, Lightning Dice, First Person Top Card and Cash or Crash). Its home page also names UPI, Paytm, PhonePe and IMPS. Search the lobby for the shows you want after signing up.
  • Winz.io lists Evolution, Ezugi and Pragmatic Play; our review lists Crazy Time, Monopoly Live and Monopoly Big Baller among its game shows.
  • V.Vegas lists Evolution and Pragmatic Play and UPI; our game search there found Crazy Time.
  • Ivibet lists Evolution, Ezugi and Pragmatic Play Live by name, with INR and a Hindi site.

Game lists change and can vary by country, so confirm the show is in the lobby before you deposit.

Play for fun, not for income

Game shows are designed to entertain, and the house edge means the longer you play, the more likely you are to lose your stake overall. Decide your limit before the first spin and stop when you reach it. If it stops feeling like fun, our responsible gambling page lists tools and support.

Frequently asked questions

What is a live casino game show?

A live game show is a casino game run by a presenter in a TV-style studio. Most are built around a big money wheel: you bet on where it will stop, and some segments start bonus rounds with multipliers. The result comes from the physical or digital wheel, not from the presenter.

Which game show has the best RTP?

We can only compare figures that providers publish. Of the shows covered here, only Crazy Time has an RTP on its public Evolution page (96.08%). Evolution and Pragmatic Play do not publish RTP on the public pages for Dream Catcher, MONOPOLY Live, Funky Time, Lightning Storm, Sweet Bonanza CandyLand, Mega Wheel, Money Time or Color Game Bonanza, so check the Help or Rules screen inside each game.

Do I win a bonus round if I only bet on numbers?

No. In Crazy Time, MONOPOLY Live, Funky Time and Lightning Storm the providers state that everyone can watch a bonus round, but only players with a bet on that bonus spot take part and get paid from it.

What is the biggest multiplier in these games?

Evolution lists up to 20,000x for Crazy Time's top bonus, Dream Catcher and the Lightning Storm bonus game. Pragmatic Play lists up to 40,000x in Money Time's Bank Heist with a bet spot booster, and a €500,000 max win for Sweet Bonanza CandyLand. These are rare top-end outcomes, not typical results.

Can a strategy beat a game show wheel?

No. Every spin is independent and the payouts are set so the house keeps an edge over time. Spreading bets over more spots changes how often you win something, not the long-run return. Treat game shows as paid entertainment with a fixed budget.

Where can I play live game shows in India?

Of the 80 casinos we review, 62 list Evolution among their providers and 19 list Pragmatic Play's live studio by name. Reviews of BC.Game, Winz.io and V.Vegas also name Crazy Time in their lobbies. Always search the live lobby yourself, as game lists change and can differ by country.
