What we review and why
Desi Casino Check reviews online casinos from the point of view of an adult player in India. Today the site covers 80 casinos in English, 80 of them also in Hindi. We focus on the questions Indian players actually ask before they deposit: can I play in rupees, is UPI, Paytm or PhonePe in the cashier, what does the welcome bonus really cost to clear, how fast are withdrawals, is there live Teen Patti and Andar Bahar, and can I get help in a language I’m comfortable with.
We don’t try to review every casino on the internet. A casino gets a review when its own pages can be read well enough to answer those questions. If the essential facts can’t be confirmed from the casino itself, we don’t publish, however popular the brand is.
Our review process, step by step
- Screening. We open the casino’s official site and check whether India appears in its list of restricted countries in the terms and conditions. If the casino’s own terms exclude Indian players, we skip it. We also skip sites that only show a bot check or a blank loading screen, because we don’t try to get around such barriers.
- Reading the official pages. For each casino we read, at minimum, the home page, the promotions page and the bonus terms, the general terms and conditions, the payments or banking page where one exists, and the help centre or FAQ. Where the casino has a separate India page, Hindi site or app page, we read those too.
- Recording facts with their source. Every casino-specific fact we use (welcome offer, wagering, minimum deposit, maximum bet with a bonus, currencies, deposit and withdrawal methods, withdrawal limits and times, providers, game types, apps, support channels and languages, responsible-gambling tools, operator name) is recorded together with the URL of the page that states it and a short note on what that page said. The public pages appear at the end of each review under “Sources we checked”.
- Checking access from more than one location. Some casinos show different content, or nothing at all, depending on where a visitor connects from. When a page doesn’t load, we try again from other locations before concluding that it can’t be read. We note which pages we couldn’t open.
- Writing the review. Every review follows the same structure: an overview, the bonus and its terms, games and providers, payments for Indian players with a deposit and withdrawal walkthrough, mobile play, support, pros and cons, a rating breakdown and a FAQ. Each review also shows key facts at the top (INR, UPI, Paytm, Hindi site, wagering, minimum deposit, launch year where published).
- Scoring. The editorial team sets five category scores against the rubric below. The overall rating is calculated, never typed in by hand.
- Final checks before publishing. Before a review goes live we check that every fact in the text matches the recorded source note, that conflicting statements are explained rather than silently resolved, that the casino’s logo comes from its own site, and that every “Visit casino” button is marked as a sponsored link.
Source hierarchy: which page wins
Casino sites often say the same thing in several places, and not always consistently. We rank sources like this:
- Bonus terms and general terms and conditions. These are the rules the casino applies when you withdraw, so they carry the most weight for wagering, maximum bets, limits and restricted countries.
- Cashier, payments and help-centre pages. These are the best published evidence for payment methods, minimums and processing times.
- Promotions, home and marketing pages. Useful for the current headline offer, game counts and features, but we cross-check them against the terms where we can.
- Game providers’ own pages. For game rules, RTP, volatility, maximum wins and release dates, the provider’s official site or press release is the source, not the casino.
We don’t use other review sites, affiliate listings, forums or social posts as sources for casino facts. If a claim exists only on a third-party site, it stays out of the review. Archived copies of a casino’s or provider’s own official pages may be used when the live page has moved, and we say so.
Missing and conflicting information
We never fill a gap with an assumption. If a casino’s wagering requirement isn’t published, the review says “not published”. If UPI doesn’t appear in a payment list, the review says “not listed”, which is different from saying the casino doesn’t accept it. If a casino shows a UPI logo in its footer but its pages don’t confirm UPI in the cashier, we say exactly that.
Source pages sometimes contradict each other, for example a promotions page showing one welcome offer while the bonus policy describes another, or a 60x wagering figure in one place and 30x in another. In those cases we describe both, explain which page says what, and ask you to confirm in the casino’s bonus terms before you deposit. Conflicts also cap the bonus score (see below).
We keep an internal log of every fact we couldn’t verify and every conflict we found. Each item is re-checked when the review is next updated.
Our rating: the scoring rubric
Every casino gets five category scores out of 10, set by our editorial team. Our rating is their simple average, so each category counts for 20%. It is the only rating we publish; we don’t show user ratings or ratings from other sites.
| Category (weight) | What we look at | How it’s scored |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome bonus (20%) | Size of the offer, wagering, maximum bet, time limit, game weighting and how clearly the terms are published | Lower wagering and clear terms score higher. Missing wagering or conflicting offers cap the score at 7.0 |
| Games & providers (20%) | Providers and game types listed, including live casino, Indian card games and crash games | Broader lobbies from better-known studios score higher; confirmed live Teen Patti and Andar Bahar count in a casino’s favour |
| Payments for India (20%) | INR accounts, UPI, Paytm, PhonePe, NetBanking, crypto, withdrawal limits and times | INR, UPI and Paytm all listed: 8.5–9.5. INR only: 6.0–7.5. None listed: 3.5–5.5 |
| Mobile (20%) | Apps or mobile browser play, as stated by the casino | Real apps and a full mobile site score higher; unknown defaults to 6.0 |
| Support (20%) | Channels, hours and languages | 24/7 live chat scores 8+; a Hindi site or Hindi support adds 0.5 |
Scores move when facts change. If an offer improves, a payment method is added or a fact we relied on is withdrawn, the affected category is re-scored and the overall rating recalculated. When a review loses facts because they could only be traced to a third-party source, the scores for the categories that relied on them are lowered.
Rating tiers
The brass seal on each review shows the rating and a tier label, so you can compare casinos at a glance:
- Excellent: 8.5 and above
- Great: 7.5 to 8.4
- Good: 7.0 to 7.4
- Decent: 6.5 to 6.9
- Fair: below 6.5
The tiers are calibrated to the real spread of our scores, so the top casinos stand out. A “Fair” casino isn’t necessarily unsafe; usually it means few India-specific payment options, strict bonus terms or a lot of facts the casino doesn’t publish.
India-specific checks
Because our readers are in India, a few checks get extra attention in every review:
- Currency. Whether INR is offered as an account currency, or whether rupees are converted to euros or dollars.
- Local payment methods. UPI, Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay, IMPS and NetBanking, recorded separately for deposits and withdrawals where the casino says so. Our payment method pages list every casino whose pages show each method.
- Indian games. Whether live or RNG Teen Patti, Andar Bahar and similar games are confirmed in the lobby or on the casino’s game pages.
- Language. Whether the site or support is available in Hindi or other Indian languages.
- Responsible-gambling tools. Which tools (deposit limits, time limits, cool-off, self-exclusion) the casino names.
We don’t give opinions on matters outside the player experience, and we never promise winnings. Every casino game has a house edge.
Game guides, odds and new slots
Our game guides explain rules and strategy in plain language. Game-specific facts such as paytables, RTP, multipliers and side-bet payouts come from the game provider’s own pages. Where we calculate odds ourselves, for example the probability of a Teen Patti trail or a Bac Bo tie, we work them out exactly and label them as our own calculation. Slot release dates, RTP and volatility on our new-slots page come from the provider; if the provider doesn’t publish a figure, we leave it blank instead of copying it from elsewhere.
The list of “casinos with this game” on a game guide is generated from the providers each casino lists, so it changes automatically when a review is updated.
Hindi versions
Hindi reviews and guides are written from the current English version, with the same facts, scores and sources. We don’t add or drop facts in translation. When an English review is updated, its Hindi version is updated to match. Pages with a counterpart in the other language link to it, and search engines are told about the pair.
Re-checks and freshness
Casinos change offers and payment methods often. We re-check reviews in rounds, starting with the ones checked longest ago, and compare the welcome offer, minimum deposit and payment methods against the casino’s pages. Each review shows a “last checked” date, which only changes when we have actually re-read the sources. If a casino’s site becomes unreadable from every location we can check from, or if its key facts can no longer be confirmed on its own pages, we unpublish the review rather than leave outdated information online.
Corrections
If you think something on the site is wrong, email [email protected] with the page and, if you can, a link to the casino page that shows the correct information. We check the claim against the casino’s own pages. If we were wrong, we fix the review, update its date and, where the change is material (for example a different wagering requirement or a payment method that was removed), we say in the review what changed. Our full corrections policy is in our editorial guidelines.
How we make money
Some “Visit casino” buttons are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you sign up. These links are marked as sponsored. Commissions don’t change scores, rankings or what we write about a casino’s weaknesses, and casinos can’t pay to be reviewed, to be ranked higher, or to have a review changed. Casinos without any affiliate arrangement are reviewed in exactly the same way. Read more on our about page.
Before you play
A good rating means a casino’s published terms are clearer and better suited to Indian players than most, not that you will win. Read our responsible gambling page for budgeting habits, account tools and free, confidential help.
Frequently asked questions
Do affiliate commissions affect our rating?
No. The score is the average of five category scores set against the rubric on this page. Casinos without any affiliate arrangement are reviewed the same way, and commissions are never an input to the rubric.
Is “Our rating” the same as the score on other review sites?
No. Our rating is our own, set against the rubric on this page. It weights India-specific payments heavily, so a casino that rates well elsewhere can score lower here if it lists no rupee or UPI options.
What happens when a casino changes its bonus?
We re-check the source pages and update the review and its “last checked” date. Until then, the review states the offer as it was listed on the date shown, so always confirm on the casino site.
Do you use other review sites as sources?
No. Casino facts come from the casino’s own pages and game facts from the game provider’s own pages. If a fact only appears on a third-party site, we leave it out.
Why does a review say “not listed” instead of “no”?
Because we can only report what the casino’s pages showed us. “Not listed” means the method or feature did not appear on the pages we read; it may still exist inside the cashier.
Why was a casino removed from the site?
If we can no longer confirm a casino’s key facts from its own pages, for example because the site is blocked everywhere we can check from, we unpublish the review rather than keep facts we can’t stand behind.
