Ask ten Indian families how they play Teen Patti and you will get ten slightly different answers. Some play Muflis, where the lowest hand wins. Some make every Ace, King, 4 and 7 wild for AK47. Others turn up a joker card. Live casino studios have their own set of variants, but they are built differently. Most of them are played against a dealer, a few let you bet on two hands like a match, and one borrows ideas from sports betting exchanges.
This guide compares the live Teen Patti variants that providers actually document on their official pages: Evolution’s Teen Patti, Ezugi’s Teen Patti 3 Card, Bet on Teen Patti (also known as 20-20 Teen Patti), One Day Teen Patti Classic, and Imagine Live’s Teen Patti. If you are new to the game itself, start with our Teen Patti basics and the Teen Patti hand rankings and odds guide, then come back here to choose a table.
The two families of live Teen Patti
Every live version we found falls into one of two groups.
Player versus dealer. You place an Ante, receive three cards, and decide whether to continue with a Play bet or fold. The dealer has to reach a minimum hand to “qualify”. Evolution’s Teen Patti, Ezugi’s Teen Patti 3 Card and Imagine Live’s Teen Patti all work this way. They are close cousins of casino Three Card Poker, and Evolution’s own page calls Teen Patti “the hugely popular Asian version of Three Card Poker”.
Bet on the outcome. You do not hold a hand at all. Two hands are dealt and you bet on which one wins. Ezugi’s Bet on Teen Patti (20-20) works this way, and One Day Teen Patti Classic adds exchange-style back and lay betting on top.
The first family suits players who like making a decision every round. The second suits players who prefer a fast, Dragon Tiger-style prediction.
Evolution Teen Patti
Evolution’s table is the most fully documented. Its game page sets out the whole flow:
- Ante. You must place the Ante to join the round. You can also add one or both side bets.
- Deal. You get three cards face up; the dealer gets three cards face down.
- Play or Fold. You either place a Play bet equal to your Ante, or fold and lose the Ante.
- Showdown. The dealer must have Queen High or better to qualify.
The settlement rules, as Evolution lists them:
- Dealer does not qualify: the Play bet pushes and the Ante is paid 1:1.
- Dealer qualifies and you win: Ante and Play both pay 1:1.
- Dealer qualifies and wins: you lose Ante and Play.
- Tie: Ante and Play both push.
- Ante Bonus: if you hold a Straight or better you receive an Ante Bonus whatever the dealer has, but only if you placed the Play bet.
Evolution describes main game payouts “from 1:1 to 5:1”. Two side bets sit on top:
- Pair Plus pays on a pair or better in your own three cards, up to 100:1.
- 6 Card Bonus combines your three cards with the dealer’s three to make the best five-card poker hand. It pays on Three of a Kind or better, up to 1000:1.
Evolution notes that the side bets “pay entirely based on the value of the player’s hand” and are settled separately from the Ante and Play. The exact paytables are in the live game, not on the public page.
Our calculation: how often the Ante Bonus can trigger. A Straight or better in Teen Patti terms means a Trail (52 hands), a Pure Sequence (48 hands) or a Sequence (720 hands), out of 22,100 possible three-card hands. That is 820 ÷ 22,100 = 3.71%, or roughly once every 27 hands. This assumes both A-K-Q and A-2-3 count as sequences, as in standard Teen Patti. Check the Help screen for Evolution’s exact definition of a Straight.
Ezugi Teen Patti 3 Card
Ezugi is part of the Evolution group, and its Teen Patti 3 Card is very close to the Evolution table. Its page lists:
- Main game payouts from 1:1 to 5:1, played against the house with a three-card hand.
- The dealer needs a Queen High to qualify.
- A Pair or Better side bet paying up to 100:1.
- A 3+3 Bonus side bet paying up to 1000:1, which combines your three cards with the dealer’s three to form the best five-card poker hand.
The 3+3 Bonus appears to be Ezugi’s name for the same idea as Evolution’s 6 Card Bonus. Before you choose between the two tables, compare the paytables in each game’s Help screen, because the headline “up to” figures do not tell you how the lower hands pay.
Bet on Teen Patti (20-20 Teen Patti)
Evolution’s page for this Ezugi game says it is “often referred to as ‘20-20 Teen Patti’”. The difference from the standard game is simple: “the player doesn’t play against the dealer, but has to predict whether Player A or Player B will get the strongest hand.”
That makes it feel more like a quick match than a hand of poker. There is no Ante, no fold decision and no dealer qualification. You pick a side before the cards are dealt, and the stronger hand wins.
Our calculation: how often the two hands tie. If Player A and Player B are dealt three cards each from a single standard 52-card deck, there are 22,100 × 18,424 = 407,170,400 ordered ways to deal the two hands. Using standard Teen Patti rankings (suits never break ties), 450,528 of them produce hands of exactly equal rank. That is a tie probability of 0.11%, about 1 in 904 rounds. Because the game is symmetrical, each player then wins 49.94% of the time. Ezugi’s public pages do not say how many decks are used or how a tie is settled, so check the in-game rules for both.
One caution: Ezugi’s own page for Bet on Teen Patti currently shows the same text as its dealer-versus-player table (Queen High qualifier, Pair or Better and 3+3 Bonus). The Evolution games site describes the Player A versus Player B format. If you open the table and see Ante and Play buttons, you are on the dealer version.
One Day Teen Patti Classic
This is the most unusual variant. The game’s page on Evolution’s games site (archived in June 2025) says players “can trade their position and liability on the game using back & lay along with our intuitive betting slip”, and describes it as “Live-Casino meets in-play sports exchange betting”.
In plain terms:
- Back means betting that an outcome will happen.
- Lay means betting that it will not happen, which makes you responsible for paying the backer if it does.
- During the round you can change your position, for example by laying a hand you backed earlier, to lock in a result or reduce a loss.
If you have never used a betting exchange, this format can be confusing. Liability on a lay bet can be several times your stake, so read the betting slip carefully before you confirm anything. If exchange betting is new to you, start with a standard table.
Imagine Live Teen Patti
Imagine Live, a newer live studio, also runs a player-versus-dealer Teen Patti. Its page says players receive three cards “from a standard 52-card deck”, the dealer needs “Queen-high or better to qualify”, and the table uses native-speaking dealers, 4K cameras and an Indian-inspired studio. The page does not list side bets, payouts or RTP, so the Help screen is the only place to check them. Our news story on Imagine Live’s Indian studios has more background.

What about Muflis, AK47 and Joker?
These are popular home-game variants, and many Indian players will look for them first. We did not find Muflis, AK47 or Joker Teen Patti documented as live products on the official pages of Evolution, Ezugi or Imagine Live that we checked. If you see a table with one of these names in a casino lobby, open its Help screen before betting. Wild cards and reversed rankings change the odds a lot. Our hand rankings and odds guide shows, for example, that in AK47 a three-card hand contains at least one wild card 67.7% of the time.
Choosing a variant
- You want decisions and the classic feel: Evolution’s Teen Patti or Ezugi’s Teen Patti 3 Card. The Play-or-Fold choice each round keeps you involved.
- You want speed and simplicity: Bet on Teen Patti. One choice, two hands, done.
- You already use betting exchanges: One Day Teen Patti Classic, but only once you understand lay liability.
- You care about side bets: compare the 6 Card Bonus and 3+3 Bonus paytables in each game. Keep side bets small. A 1000:1 headline belongs to a very rare hand.
Keep it under control
Teen Patti rounds are quick, and the side bets make it easy to stake more per hand than you planned. Decide your budget before you sit down. Keep side bets to a small fraction of your Ante, and stop when you reach your limit. Our RTP and volatility guide explains why big-multiplier side bets usually cost more over time. Teen Patti Variants: common questions
What is 20-20 Teen Patti?
It is another name for Ezugi's Bet on Teen Patti. Evolution's page for the game says it is 'often referred to as 20-20 Teen Patti'. Instead of playing your own hand against the dealer, you bet on whether Player A or Player B will end up with the stronger three-card hand.
Which live Teen Patti variant has the biggest side bet?
Evolution's Teen Patti (6 Card Bonus) and Ezugi's Teen Patti 3 Card (3+3 Bonus) both advertise side bet payouts of up to 1000:1. Both bets combine your three cards with the dealer's three to make the best five-card poker hand. The full paytables are shown inside the games, not on the public pages.
Can I play Muflis, AK47 or Joker Teen Patti at a live casino?
We did not find these home-game variants documented on the official pages of Evolution, Ezugi or Imagine Live that we checked. The live tables covered here use standard Teen Patti hand rankings. Our hand rankings guide explains how Muflis and wild-card games change the odds.
How is One Day Teen Patti different from normal Teen Patti?
One Day Teen Patti Classic from Ezugi adds back and lay betting through a betting slip. You can trade your position and liability during the round, in a similar way to an in-play sports betting exchange.
Does the dealer need to qualify in every live Teen Patti variant?
Only in the player-versus-dealer versions. Evolution's Teen Patti, Ezugi's Teen Patti 3 Card and Imagine Live's Teen Patti all use a Queen High qualifier. In Bet on Teen Patti there is no dealer hand to qualify: you simply back Player A or Player B.
